Office Administrator

Office Administrator (PT)
Reports to: Membership Director
Job Summary:
Small environmental non-profit looking for a part-time (20-25 hours a week) Office Administrator who possesses strong self-direction, motivation and the ability and inclination to take ownership of tasks. Experience with Quickbooks a must. We are a grass-roots conservation organization that depends on volunteers and runs a busy and diverse program.
Duties:
* Provide basic office support, such as answering phones, copying and maintenance of filing systems.
* Manage accounts payable/receivable in Quickbooks.
* Assist with the preparation and execution of events including our annual benefit, monthly lecture series and education program.
* Assist with the development and mailing of invitations, acknowledgements and overall correspondence.
* Interact with NYC Audubon members, the general public, vendors and partner organizations on a daily basis.
Qualifications:
* At least 3 years administrative experience. Experience working with environmental non-profit organizations is preferred.
* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with staff and the general public.
* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with staff and the general public.
* Strong data entry skills, experience with Quickbooks and Microsoft Office.
* Ability to work independently, take initiative and follow directions.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail essential.
* Good problem-solving skills.
* Web development skills are a plus.
* Flexibility and a sense of humor.
Starting Date: ASAP
Salary: $15-$19/hr, 20-25 hrs per week
